Subject: Need a good laugh in Iraq

Hey Steve,

I was thinking about you tonight. It's really hard to find any humor in this place and I was trying to think of something funny. Naturally you came to mind. I've been in Iraq for almost 6 months and will probably be here until February/March of 2005. This will probably be my last gig with the military (24 years and two wars is enough). When I'm not in third world countries, I'm living on Long Island and working in Manhattan for the Federal Government.

Here's a picture of me with a 2 week old Bedouin baby. The tent in the background is where they live. Dirt floor and everything. I guess it is kind of funny that in their dirt floor tent they have satellite TV. At least their priorities are straight.

Hope to hear from you,

Mike
